Alfa Romeo Reveals Production Figures For 4C

Alfa Romeo recently announced the production figures for its 4C, and they’re a bit disappointing.
3,500 examples of the 4C will be produced. That’s less than a Ferrari 458 Italia. This puts an end to the original expectation that the car would be an entry level exotic aimed at the mass market.
Alfa Romeo states that the small amount is due to “constraints related to the technical and technological solutions adopted”. This means that they’ve probably spent a bit too much on producing the cars – remember that a lot of the car is made from carbon fibre.
Alfa says that the car will be priced competitively – although it is unclear with what they’re trying to compete. Considering the rarity of the car it’s unlikely the price will be close to that of the Toyota GT86 or even Porsche’s 981 Boxster.
1,000 examples of the 4C will be staying within Europe, with the rest spread globally.
